World Space Expo 2007 at Kennedy Space Center

The inaugural World Space Expo will be held November 1-4, 2007,at the Kennedy Space Center. Celebrating 50 years of space exploration, there will be four pavilions of exhibits. Highlights will include aerial demonstrations by:

  • U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Aerial Demonstration Squadron
  • U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor
  • U.S. Navy F-18 Super Hornet
  • U.S. Air Force F-15 Eagle
  • U.S. Air Force 920th Rescue Wing, Responsible for Mercury and Gemini capsule recovery
  • U.S. Army Golden Knights
  • P-51 Mustang Heritage Flight
  • According to the official press release:

    The primary objective is to inspire, educate and engage the general public through an immersive experience of historic and modern exhibits, interactive presentations, rarely seen demonstrations, and up-close and personal sessions with astronauts and industry leaders. Attendees will leave inspired, entertained and enlightened to why research and exploration in space are vital components of mankind’s future.

    The Kennedy Space Center is located an easy 45 minutes east of Orlando. It’s a great side trip to take if you are staying in the Orlando area, and chances are the kids will remember their visit to the Space Center as being one of the highlights of their vacation.
