The Arts in Central Florida

If you had the chance to see a live production at one of the top five concert halls in the country, would you want to go? Well, if you’re visiting in Central Florida you can do just that. A nation-wide poll of technicians, artisans, and the entities that manage them, voted the Ruth Eckerd Hall as one of the best five concert facilities in the United States.

Located in Clearwater between Tampa Bay and the beaches of Florida, you can visit the Ruth Eckerd Hall and see concerts, recitals, and plays as well as a host of other similar products in this 2,180 seat capacity facility. In fact, there is an average of at least 200 live productions here each year.

National art organizations such as The Florida Orchestra perform here as do many different vocal artists. Among them are Country Music’s greats like Willie Nelson, Rock and Roll’s crazy Alice Cooper, and Alternative Rock’s lovely Paula Cole. But, there is much more artistic diversity than just vocal artists.

You can see Broadway productions such as The Color Purple, Chicago and Chorus Line. You can watch international multi-talented performances such as Barrage; an eclectic fiddle-fest of music, song and dance. Have you ever heard of the Yo-Yo Man? This master of the cello was presented with the Musical America’s 2009 Musician of the Year award by the Ruth Eckerd Hall, has 15 Grammy’s credited to his name, and performed at the inauguration of our 44th president.

The Ruth Eckerd Hall is an acoustic paradise, and seeing a live performance here is unlike seeing one anywhere else. The Ruth Eckerd Hall is considered one of the leaders in the performing arts arena. The mission of the Ruth Eckerd Hall is to provide the public the opportunity to see the finest in what the performing arts has to offer. And, they’re doing a fine job of it.
