All About Orlando

Christmas is over and the decorations are being packed away, but it’s not too late to indulge yourself one last time with holiday music and a lights extravaganza. New York Street at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando has been transformed into a glittering, flashing, holiday lights bonanza.

Begin a sedate stroll down New York Street only to have the street lights fade, snow flakes begin to fall (in Florida, no less!) and music begin to play. Then the lights begin. Millions of lights arranged by SYLVANIA grace the street and appear in synchronized splendor. Walk under beautiful archways of glowing colors and watch the light shows as entire buildings burst into colorful displays.

Millions of lights are arranged in graceful carousels spinning above your head, towering trees of red and green, and glittering angels flying above. Continue your journey to see the jolly old elf himself, now resting up from his long stint on Christmas Eve.

The lights are dancing to fun, seasonal music all around you, and you may begin to feel the urge to dance a bit, too. Even if you maintain a stately walk through the millions of twinkles and flashes, you’ll still be awed by the spectacle. The holiday light show is a Disney tradition that appears once again this season to make holiday dreams come true.

Of course, the holidays are all but over, but Hollywood Studios must know how much we’ll miss the season. The park has arranged to keep the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights running daily until January 6. That gives you plenty of time to arrange a trip to the park not only for an exciting New Year’s treat, but for the last few twinkles and sounds of the season. Never fear, this light show will be enough to sustain you until Christmas rolls around again.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is open until eight pm most nights, but offers extended hours with purchase of a Magic Your Way ticket.
