All About Orlando

Orlando, Florida has a lot to boast about as is, but now they have one more thing to brag on. Theme Park Insider.com has named Universal Orlando Resort’s Simpsons Ride the world’s best new theme park attraction for 2008. And that is saying something considering the competition it was up against.

According to Theme Park Insider: “The Web site’s annual awards attracted more than 75,000 voters who ranked the Simpsons Ride at the best new attraction, followed by Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Nights in White Satin at Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach, S.C.”

And it gets even better for Orlando attractions. “For the sixth consecutive year, Universal Orlando’s Mythos Restaurant was voted the best theme park restaurants, followed by Le Cellier Steakhouse at Walt Disney World’s Epcot, and the Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.” (Source: Theme Park Insider)

Theme Park Insider is a consumers’ guide to theme and amusement parks. It has been named the top theme park site on the Internet by Forbes and Travel + Leisure magazines. The site receives more than 1.7 million visitors a year.

So what does this mean to you? If you are planning a trip to Orlando, Florida this year you can bet you will have opportunities to visit some of the best attractions in the country. While there is some consternation about lower levels of tourists this year due to high gas prices and increased airfares, the city and the theme parks are gearing up anyway with the hopes that fewer tourists will only mean shorter lines for you!
