Orlando Parks Gearing Up
With Orlando, Florida being one of the top tourist and visitor locations in the south, competition for visitor traffic is fierce. Many of the parks and other popular attractions in the city and surrounding areas will be gearing up to meet that competition.
Many of the lesser known attractions will be going all out to get visitors to come their way. They will be going head to head with some of the larger attractions in order to steer visitors toward their smaller venues. In order to accomplish that feat, they will be offering fantastic deals and entertainment opportunities.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, one of these smaller venues, Fun Spot of Florida, will be launching its own promotions which include free drinks and prizes. There is even the giveaway of an automobile scheduled for this summer.
High on the list of possible opportunities are the visitors from Europe and other overseas countries. It is expected that the Florida venues will benefit from a higher Euro and English pound. Overseas visitors usually stay longer and tend to visit more tourist destinations during their visits. Smaller tourist attractions are hoping to bring some of this business their way.
“The marketing campaign we kicked off at the convention and visitor’s bureau in 2007 has great momentum,” said Mark McHugh, who is the chairman of the Orlando/Orange County convention and visitor’s board of directors. Mr. McHugh is optimistic that 2008 will turn out to be a good year for those in the tourism business in Orlando and the immediate area.
Visitors to the Orlando area will need to check local listings and websites for the most up-to-date information on the various deals and offerings that will be available during the summer and later on in the year. When possible, it is advisable to book reservations early.
