Orlando Food and Wine Fest

If you’re looking for a place to go that’s got a unique mix of artistic talent, beverages to quench your thirst, and a selection of cuisine that includes Greek, Mexican and good ole’ American, the Orlando Food and Wine Festival is the place to be.

This annual two-day event is held outdoors in mid-November, and attracts locals and visitors alike. The 600 plus crafters, who come to showcase and sell their wares, come from all over the area, and incorporate a variety of medians in their works. Ceramics, glassware, jewelry, photography, wood, are just a few of the many different crafts offered.

Some additional activities include live musical performances, and an area of the festival grounds dedicated especially to the little ones in the crowd with age appropriate activities they can have fun with. Each year a “Traveling Host Chef” makes and appearance and shows off her/his cooking excellence. Additionally, a number of other culinary experts offer their know-how of the art of cooking. And, what goes along with cooking? Eating of course.

Food and drink tickets are available in monetary increments of $2.00 each. If you want to taste the cuisine offer by participating restaurants, you’ll need to purchase these tickets, as cash will not be accepted.

Each establishment will offer at least 3 food choices, each of them costing between $2.00 and $8.00 dollars a piece. The tickets will also buy you some cool drinks at each of the beverage stations located at different areas around the festival grounds. Beverages include water, soda, beer, wine and mojito made just the way you like it. Coolers food and drinks are not allowed at the festival and chairs and blankets are only permitted near the performance stage.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.orlandofoodandwinefest.com . Children under twelve are admitted free, but unfortunately you won’t be allowed to bring your pet along for the outing. There is an adult admittance fee each year that will be listed on the site.

The Orlando Food and Wine Fest is the perfect thing to add to your weekend itinerary when visiting the Orlando area.
