New Coaster In Town

Many of those visiting Orlando, Florida are simply nuts about roller coasters. If you have one of those in your family, or if you are a coaster freak yourself, you are in for a real treat.

Universal Studios Orlando recently announced the scheduled opening of its Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit roller coaster. This monster has to be seen to be appreciated. The heart pounding ride is scheduled to open at the Orlando theme park in Spring 2009.

The difference in this coaster to others is apparent the moment you arrive. Before the ride begins, you pick a song and then strap in. As the ride rockets up to speed, riders hear the song they picked out. Within seconds, you are heading straight up and reaching speeds of 65 mph as you soar up to 17 stories over Universal Studios. And this is just the beginning of this awesome ride.

Want to take the thrill home with you? The entire adventure is caught on video and riders have the opportunity to edit the video so they can send a copy to family or friends. What you end up with is something akin to a music video with the ride experience as video.

This ride might easily be called the most advanced roller coaster in the world. The Universal Creative team has put together an audio and special effects package that will have the industry buzzing with excitement.

“This is the perfect intersection of the digital age and theme park entertainment,” said Mark Woodbury, President of Creative for Universal Parks & Resorts. “Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit, blends roller coaster intensity and guest interaction in a way where no two experiences will be the same.”

If that is not enough to get your blood pumping, the ride will have six near-miss moments, along with a record-breaking loop. Up to four trains are picked while in line and include five genres: classic rock, rap, country, pop and disco.
