“National Treasures” Exhibit at Epcot

A historical exhibit of over 40 authentic American artifacts will be on display at the American Adventure pavilion at Epcot beginning September 28. According to the Orlando Sentinel, this exhibit will include such artifacts as:

  • Abraham Lincoln’s stovetop hat
  • A moon rock on loan from Mercury 7 astronaut Virgil Grissom’s family
  • A copy of Rosa Parks’ arrest paperwork from her bus seat protest
  • Thomas Edison’s projector and phonograph
  • Also included in the exhibit will be artifacts from other famous Americans such as Benjamin Franklin, Mark Twain, George Washington Carver, Jackie Robinson and Chief Joseph. There will also be an entire section devoted to the space program that will include the flight vest of Commander John Herrington, a Native American. Japanese-American World War II hero Sen. Daniel Inouye’s Purple Heart medal will also be on display.

    The exhibit will be continually changed, so the artifacts displayed may vary depending upon when you visit.

    The National Treasures exhibit is set to coincide with Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival.
