Money Saving Tips for Orlando

Can you save money when visiting Orlando, Florida? Sure you can and you might be surprised at how much money you can save.

First of all, visitors should understand that many discounts will begin in late August. Much of this is due to Orlando venues wanting to draw in business during the economic slump. One of the deals visitors can find will be greatly reduced hotel prices.

For example, just outside of Orlando is the town of Kissimmee. Here you can find many low-cost motels, some with high discounts if you book in advance. People who use Priceline.com or Hotwire.com to make their bookings can expect room rates as low as $35 and $40 a night. What you might not know is that many of these locations are actually closer to some theme parks than many hotel-heavy areas of Orlando itself.

Want to save money on meals that are charged at most at the theme parks? Many experts recommend that you simply leave the theme park and eat somewhere else and then return to the park after having your meal. Keep in mind that in Orlando, the theme park tickets you purchase are valid all day, regardless of how often you leave.

The same applies to parking privileges. Once you pay to park your car, you can leave the theme park go to a low cost eatery and later return to the same theme park parking lot without having to pay again.

You do want to make sure that when you leave a particular theme park, you exit through the turnstiles devoted to people who intend to come back. These are normally labeled as Same-Day Return.

Another way to save big is to bring the small things with you. For example, bring your own water or snacks. Most theme parks frown on visitors bringing in large picnic baskets, but do not have a problem if you bring in a small pack. Bringing your own drinks can save you a lot of money during the course of visit, especially if you visit on a hot day.

So, yes, you can save money during your visit to Orlando but it does take a bit of pre-planning. This planning, however, is well worth the time it takes.
