Considered to be America’s gateway to the universe, Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida is one on the most remarkable places that captures what space travel and exploration is all about. The United States Astronaut Hall of Fame offers visitors the chance to take a glimpse of what it’s like to be an astronaut. You’ll see the world’s largest collection of personal memorabilia of astronauts, and experience what it takes to be an astronaut, through simulated training apparatus. You’ll also be able to see rare astronaut artifacts, and remarkable exhibits created to honor those that have braved the space frontiers, and allowed us to know more about our universe than we’ve ever known before. There are some real exciting hands-on activities you can take part in also.
You’ll be able to suit up, and blast off in the interactive simulators that give you a real taste of what the astronauts experience when they travel into, and through, space. Don’t be shy. Take a turn and see if you’ve got what it takes to become an astronaut. You can also take one of the Kennedy Space Center Tours.
Come see the towering launch pads where it all takes place. Check out the huge rockets, and learn more about the center from a space program expert that will guide you through the tours.
The Imax Space Films will test your nerves. As you watch incredible footage shot in space by astronauts on a five-story realistic 3-D screen, the walls will thunder with the sounds of space. You’ll also be afforded the opportunity to talk one-on-one with some real life astronauts that have flown into space.
