Located on North Forest Avenue, in Orlando; this historical garden paradise is opened everyday from 9am to 5pm, except they are closed on Christmas. The entrance fee is nominal for adults and they have rates for children and seniors. If you are looking for a true bargain, then plan on visiting the gardens on Monday mornings; from 9am to 12pm the entrance fee is waived for all except for groups. Please note that pets are not allowed.
What do you think you will see at this wondrous place? Well, there will not be long lines for fast rides and oversized cartoon characters, but a chance to wander through the gardens and guided tours of Harry P. Leu’s historical house. They also have things like:
* Butterfly gardens showcasing these winged art forms and the fauna they are attracted to
* Horticulture gardens of the area with beautiful plantings of that area; Including azalea, vines, bromeliads, tropical philodendrons, annual favorites, roses, and camellias. Don’t forget to take note of the camphor trees, elms, and oaks.
Once you have a chance to see the gardens, then be sure to check out the traveling art exhibits and the permanent bronze sculptures that were designed for the gardens.
In the heart of the gardens, you will have a chance to take a guided tour of the ornate household of Harry P. Leu. This house is listed on the register of historical places. The guided tours start every hour.
