Festival of Chocolate at Orlando Science Center
Do you love chocolate? Who doesn’t? If you’re a chocolate lover then you’ve got to make it a point to attend The Festival of Chocolate at the Orlando Science Center. Considered to be Central Florida’s premier chocolate tasting event, The Festival of Chocolate has a little something for everyone.
The kids will learn about the science of chocolate. They can enter the Chocolate Ice Cream eating contest or make some chocolate Play-Dough to take home with them. They can also create other chocolate concoctions and participate in a variety of kid-friendly chocolate classes.
If you consider yourself a masterful chocolate handler, you can watch some demonstrations by award-winning chefs and learn a few tricks and techniques of chocolate handling. But, the fun doesn’t stop there.
There’s an Educational Chocolate Museum that will introduce you to the history and production of chocolate. You’ll learn how chocolate impacts your health; you can take a look at chocolate trends of the past and present, and much more.
There’s chocolate tasting, and a whole lota sweet delights for sale including gourmet chocolate, cookies, brownies, cakes, cupcakes, and there’s even chocolate drinks available. Venders will vary from year to year, but no matter who they are, you can only buy their delectable treats with chocolate chip coins.
That’s right. These vendors won’t accept any form of currency except the chocolate chip coins. Don’t have any floating around the bottom of your purse? No problem. There are chocolate chip coin booths placed strategically around the festival that can change your money into chocolate chip coins.
The festival also features a “Best of” Chocolate Indulgence Competition, a “Festival of Chocolate” store that’s got all sorts of chocolate items for sale, and a Chocolate Decadence Raffle that includes some of the most delicious and unique chocolate creations you’ve ever seen.
The Festival of Chocolate takes place March 6 and 7, 2010.
