Epcot Hosts International Food & Wine Fest
There is no place like Epcot in the Walt Disney World complex to host a full-fledged international festival of food and wine. Epcot already houses a collection of attractions showcasing the various countries around the world, as well as advancements in science and technology.
The country attractions have always had relevant music, food, points of interest and ambiance straight from the originating nation, and the International Food & Wine Festival is a natural extension of this rich part of the Epcot experience.
2007 marks the twelfth season of the Festival, and this season brings much to the palate of visitors. Not only will there be a large selection of foods, beers and wines from around the world, there will also be a collection of celebrity chefs, authors and musicians.
The Culinary Experience
Epcot adds to the basic culinary experience of the festival by featuring many celebrity performances. Famous chefs and winemakers will host special demonstrations and exhibits, and samples of their creations will be available throughout the park.
To accompany the food and beverages, Disney is also providing a concert series entitled “Eat to the Beat.” Popular music acts will perform during the festival to provide a terrific sense of energy and excitement.
Wonders of Life Pavilion
The Wonders of Life Pavilion is the center of the International Food & Wine Festival. The Pavilion houses a champagne and wine bar as well as the Festival Wine Shop. It is also the site where all book signings will take place. Disney and Epcot have arranged for a significant number of chefs and authors to come and showcase their cookbooks and other work.
Finally, the Festival Merchandise Shop contains items available for purchase that commemorate the festival. The Festival items are sold alongside other, more traditional, Disney merchandise including gift cards.
The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival begins on September 28, 2007 and runs through November 11. The fall brings cooler weather and smaller crowds to the theme park, so this might be the perfect time to experience all Epcot has to offer.
