Discovery Cove

Visitors to Orlando, Florida can be overwhelmed with the many things to do and see, but one opportunity that should not be missed is a visit to Discovery Cove. Discovery Cove is like nothing else you will see or do in Orlando and it is often considered the best kept secret in the area.

Admission to Discovery Cove is limited to about 1,000 per day, so you have to make advanced reservations. This limited admission policy allows visitors and staff to interact on a very personal level which is a key point to the Discovery Cove experience. And what do you do at Discovery Cove? You get to swim with the dolphins and interact with them face to face.

Once admitted to the park, visitors are escorted to the changing rooms where they find towels, lockers and showers available for everyone. After changing, visitors are introduced to the trainers. These highly skilled trainers will share details of the dolphin anatomy with visitors, explain to you what your day will consist of, and then they will show you a video on the lives of wild dolphins.

From here you move to the beach, and to the main lagoon. Here you are introduced to the dolphins. These friendly and intelligent animals will give you a kiss and laugh to help you feel at home. Then it is out into the deeper water where you are towed around by a dolphin who is just as happy as you are.

Flotation devices are provided so no worry about that. There is also specially designed equipment available for the disabled. Everyone has fun at Discovery Cove.

The rest of your day can be spent simply relaxing on the beautiful beach that is located within the park. There are waterfalls to enjoy as well as other sea animals such as rays and tropical fish to visit. You can even snorkel along the shoals if you wish to. A surprising visitor such as a shark or barricuda may pop up, but they are behind glass. When it is time to dry out, visit the free flight aviary to see some truly exotic and wonderful birds.

Discover Cove offers packages for Swimmers and Non-Swimmers alike. Prices vary depending on season and you must book early.
