All About Orlando

If you’re looking for a change of pace from the hustle and bustle that is Orlando and all the theme park activity, check out the quiet town of Mount Dora, Florida. Mount Dora is just 25 miles northwest of Orlando, so it’s an easy day trip. Established in 1880, Mount Dora is located along the shores of Lake Dora and is filled with delightful shops that are perfect for antique lovers and shoppers. In fact, the town hosts some very popular antique festivals in November, January and February.

This quaint 19th century town hosts several other festivals throughout the year as well, including the annual Mount Dora Art Festival, held the first weekend in February, and the Mount Dora Bicycle Festival and a Craft Festival, both held in October. If you enjoy boats, visit the town in April to take in the Sailing Regatta.
