Big Bands and Irish Thunder

Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, not far from Orlando, is bringing adventure to the stage as well as the park this January. A step dancing spectacular is coming this month along with a complete series of big bands. Get your toes tapping with wild Irish jigs and feisty dancers, then sit back and enjoy the music of days gone by. With both events happening at the same time, you just may find that Busch Gardens is the perfect place to play this January.

Spirit of Ireland
Busch Gardens has created an Irish step dancing spectacular that will run from January 10 through March 30. The show will feature lively tunes and possibly a few of the melancholy pieces the Irish are famous for. Watch dancers whirl and jig while you try to keep your own toes under control. The show is included with park admission making it a must see this winter.

Big Bands Series
Not to be outdone by a few spirited jigs, Busch Gardens is also introducing a series of Big Bands to the park to entertain guests with some of music’s most memorable songs. Enjoy the full range of music popular during the era of the big bands and find new favorites as you swing and hum along with the Les Brown Band of Renown beginning January 17.

Les Brown Band of Renown will be playing through the 20th and will be followed by The Terry Myers Orchestra featuring Peter Appleyard from January 24-27, The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra from January 30 to February 3, and The Artie Shaw Orchestra featuring Dick Johnson from February 7-10. All concerts are included with park admission on the scheduled days.

Don’t let the post holiday season bring you down. Come down to the sunshine and warmth of the African Safari at Busch Gardens and enjoy all that the park has to offer - including two of the most entertaining shows around. Try them both or settle for just one, but be sure to bring along your appreciation for fine music and dancing.

    2. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Orlando, but I like what I see. I would never be able to just *listen* to big band music though - you have to swing to enjoy it!
