Attractions in Polk County

Located just a few minutes away from Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios in Orlando, is Polk County. This is one of Florida’s most beautiful, and versatile, counties. You’ll find so much to do in Polk County, and you won’t have to contend with long lines and crowds of people in order enjoy it. The following attractions are only a drop in the bucket of what Polk County, Florida has to offer its residents and visitors.

Head over to Bok Towers and see the beautifully landscaped gardens, a Mediterranean revival mansion, and a majestic belltower. Stop in and have a bite to eat at the café, and pick out a souvenir from the gift shop before you leave.

Walk along a dirt road and enter the 1900’s in Cow Camp at Lake Kissimmee State Park. Talk with a cow hunter and learn about the way he lives. See Florida’s scrub cattle that were originally brought to America in the 15th century by the Spanish.

Go for a wet water ride of your life at Splash Island Waterpark at Cypress Gardens. Enjoy a little of the serenity of the gardens and get your heart pumping as you splash and have fun at the park. You can also see one of the famed water ski shows while you’re there.
